FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What are Probiotics?

Probiotics are live bacteria that have a beneficial effect on the balance of the microbiota (the set of micro-organisms that live in the gut and whose balance is essential for good health).

These micro-organisms perform essential functions for our well-being, they are involved in immunity, digestion and vitamin production.

Are probiotics and prebiotics the same thing?

Probiotics should not be confused with prebiotics. Prebiotics are carbohydrates that our gut cannot digest. They are also necessary, as they promote the growth of beneficial bacteria and inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria in the gut.

Our Variet products provide both Probiotics and Prebiotics.

What is their shelf life and how should they be stored?

Shelf life is 1 year after production. It should be stored in a cool, dry place.

It is not recommended to subject the product to temperatures above 45°C or to mix with hot food or beverages to maintain the survival of the probiotic strains.

Once the package is opened, close it properly.
